Jonathan Hendren and his family are Gateway's new pastors. More information and pictures will follow! The Hendrens have been in ministry since 1980. They have served in the role of Children's Pastor, Small Groups Pastor, Christian Education Director, and Senior Pastor. Lisa and Jonathan have two boys ages 5 and 12. Come and visit us, where God is doing incredible things in those that attend!

Alex Vargas, Youth Pastor
 
Alex Vargas has been ministering in different areas of the English and Spanish speaking community. Since 1995, God has given him a passion to reach the youth of this generation, equipping them with the right tools to become Black Smiths for the Kingdom and reformers for the nations.Alex and his wife Ericka have four children, Nichole, Francesca, Esteban, and Joseph which they also serve along side with their parents in the ministry.  He is also involved in organizing short term mission’s trips around Latin America ministering to people in villages, cities, schools, jungles and where ever there is an opportunity to speak the word of God.

He oversees the Missions and Evangelism Ministries at Gateway Assembly of God where he serves as a youth pastor and a spiritual father to the RY9 youth.

Ericka Vargas, Children's Pastor

 
 


Ericka has been Children's Pastor at Gateway since 2004.  She and her husband, Alex, have been involved in children's ministry in the mission field in Latin America for five years.  Her desire is to reach all children with God's love and show them that they have a purpose in life.

  • Milwaukee Teen Challenge -- bucking the trend

    While other organizations struggled, the Milwaukee Teen Challenge doubled its capacity.

  • Convoy of Hope aids Louisiana

    For the five-year anniversary of Katrina and to aid oil-spill victims, Convoy of Hope recently sent an outreach team and 40,000 pounds of groceries to Louisiana. Outreaches were held on three consecutive nights to serve hundreds of people.

  • Minister, missions visionary Dan Sheaffer dies

    Dr. Dan Sheaffer, the former pastor of Crossroads Cathedral (AG) in Oklahoma City, known for effectively raising millions for AG missions and AG higher education, passed away Thursday.

  • Fisherman back on feet, thanks to Convoy, MAPS

    Jimmy Morgan, an oyster fisherman from Louisiana, had his house and boat destroyed by Katrina in 2005. Hundreds of church groups, MAPS teams, Convoy of Hope teams and volunteers headed to the region to help families like the Morgans get back on their feet.
